Problem Statement
A cookie shop makes two types of cookies, Shortbread and chocolate chip. Everyday they sell cookies as they are popular. The two cookies cost different amounts to make and sell. The 3 constraints are there are only 60 cups of brown sugar. Only have 70 cups of flour and 15 hours time. Our shortbread cost $2.00 to make a batch of 16 and will be sold in batches of 8 at $6.00
Chocolate chips cost $4.70 to make a batch of 12 and will be sold at $14.00 for a case of 12. How many of each cookie should we sell to maximize profit.

Project Solution
Constraints
- We only have 60 cups of brown sugar
- We only have 70 cups of flour
- We only have 50 hours of time
The 3 best answers I got were
45 batches of chocolate chip with a maximum profit of $272
50 batched which is impossible because it would go over constraints
And 6 batches of shortbread and 40 chocolate with the same price output
Reflection
The cookies help me gain a perspective on real world marketing and math that is used in every industry. Something that led to a deeper understanding was the terms markup which helped me word things better. Something I am proud of is asking people for help because it is something I have had trouble with in the past. The most challenging thing about this unit was learning the new equations I had never seen before and understanding them enough to use real world content. I am proud of asking for help and I would honestly use more variables in my work.
